A Pink feat. Jun Hyung of Beast aka Joker – Up to the sky
I came across this song by accident when i was blog surfing. Even though i couldn’t recognize the female group, i immediately recognised Jun Hyung’s voice, his distinct style of rap helped too, so i went about googling the song. To my pleasant surprise, it was fellow Cube entertainment’s girl group A Pink. The song was definitely had more edginess than their title track to me, and i wished that they had used this instead, because their latest title track didn’t do a lot for me compared to their debut song. This song still maintain’s that similar electronic vibe with their title track ‘Hush’, but the melody and music is nicer. Though their rap was a bit questionable (voice problem?), it wasn’t enough to ruin the entire song. The chorus is also definitely catchy. Overall, i would say this song over ‘Hush’.
Huh Gak – One Person
One of Big’s (kdama) Ost, this is a ballad song sung by the winner of Superstar K 2 and signed under A-Cube entertainment, who seems to be doing very well on korea’s music scene. And it’s no wonder why. His voice is filled with emotion in this ballad and is pretty unique and obviously nice to listen to. Well, other than that, even though this is pretty much your typical kdrama ballad ost, there is somehow no way to get sick of them. With their always perfect arrangement accompanied by vocal talents, there is nothing to dislike about. This typical kdrama ballad Ost formulae is definitely something quite unique to korean culture.
Well, that’s all folks. Look out for the next sunday’s update of my SORT.
